Having successfully installed Big Sur on Mac Pro 2009 I thought I'd give Monterey a go using the opencore.app this time and some help from
. All went smoothly til the post install stage. A window was supposed to open to enable moving OpenCore to the Monterey SSD but it never appeared and now I am unable to disconnect the USB installer disk. I read that I should be able to download and install OpenCore Legacy Patcher again and use that to finalise the install but it won't seem to run in Monterey. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid. Can anyone set me straight?

This is looksing bad. In the state it's in the SSD might be difficult/impossible to salvage. If I boot into High Sierra it generates constant disk errors and Disk Utility won't launch properly so I can't even erase it to start again. Monterey Finder seems to be working OK although won't quit.

Gave up on this. Decided there's a hardware problem on this machine. Certainly a USB issue at the very least.
