I have two El Capitan laptops with the latest software. On one I can copy an image into the Signatures option in Preferences in Mac Mail and it works great. The other shows as an icon with the name of the name of the image.
What can I do so the image shows properly and not as an icon?

Thank you for looking.

Thank you fisherking. When I do that an icon appears with its name and not the image itself.

ny somewhere
what kind of image is it? try opening the image in preview, and saving in a different format (ie if it's a png, save it as a jpeg), then try dragging the new image into your signature window.

also...you could reboot. try with a newly-started up mac...
