So I managed to download El Capitan on my 2013 mac mini, by going into "purchased" in the app store and downloading it (it was listed I presume because of having installed it on another mac in my house).
However, before installing it I got a warning that my HD did not have enough free space. I deleted 30gb or so but the message persisted, the HD in question remained greyed out, still listing the low amount of free memory from before I culled files.
I closed the app store, re-opened it, and it now says that my El Capitan is "installed". It is not, I'm still running 10.8.5 . Tried restarting app store a few times, the option to install El Capitan just does not appear.
Does anyone know where to find it on my computer? It clearly downloaded the 6gb or so file for El Capitan but now I am stuck unable to find an "install" button for it, nor is it in any obvious place on my HD, nor can I re-start the whole process since the app store says I've installed it.
Help!
