Hi I have problem with locating files in my Drop Box folder.
I’m not talking Dropbox.com the service in any way, and if I try to search for a resolution to this problem, frustratingly all search results are dominated by results relating to Dropbox.com the service which I don’t have an account for as I use iCloud.
The Drop Box I mean is located in user public folder inside the user > username folder.
My problem started with the intention to make files that were created one one account accessible in another.
I had a folder backed up in iCloud that I wanted to make available to a user on the same Mac.
I dragged and dropped this folder into the folder Users > my own user account > Public > Drop Box by following a video guide that said this was the best way to do it. The folder then vanished from my own user account, and when I log into the other user account this folder is not in shared or this Drop Box folder and this Drop Box folder wont let me look inside because I need permissions and my usual tactic of just searching on Google is getting me nowhere cause all I find is related.
From what i understand of this Drop box folder it should have been on my the target users drop box i shared to and not my own.
Where would I find these files?
They have vanished from my iCloud too.
These files in this folder are very important to me, it’s a big digital art collection, I put a lot of time into creating them over the past year and I have no idea where to find them now. I tried to makes sure they were backed up and used to access between my iCloud from my iMac, MacBook and iPad and would be absolutely gutted if they are gone forever over one stupid simple mistake.
Lessoned learned anyway I need an additional layer of backups for sure.
