Trouble making App Store purchase on XR

Idk if this is iOS, the app or the phone because this is my first Face ID phone, but when I try to buy something through my app, it tells me to click on the side button to complete the purchase and shows the power button as the one to press.

I’ve tried it 4 times and it isn’t doing squat. I have Face ID set up for purchases, but it’s not giving me an option for that.

Ideas?

You need to double press the side button while looking at the phone. By double pressing the side button, you’re giving the phone permission to make the purchase and Face ID is then activated as a second confirmation before the purchase is finalized.

Thanks! I had no idea. When the thing pops up it just says to press the side button, so I didn’t realize that needed to be a double-click.

I wound up doing what I needed on my iPad because I couldn’t figure it out last night. Thank goodness I still have that old-fashioned Touch ID on that one. ;-p

Does it say something different than "Double-Click to Pay"?

As @C DM has shown it should say “double-click to pay”...
