Hey everyone.

I finally updated to Panther, and I'm happy to say that ALMOST everything works fine, still.

OpenOffice, however, isn't printing now. I'm obviously running openoffice with X11 now instead of XDarwin (as i was in Jaguar), but I'd think that was the only difference.

It always printed fine in Jaguar...I'm not sure why it's not now. I had to add my printer to Print Center again, but that seems to have worked successfully.

Everything else (Word, Preview, Safari, ect.) prints fine. Printing from OpenOffice, though, doesn't even start the printing process, though. That is, in Print Center, it still has no jobs active and none listed.

OpenOffice DOES, however, have photosmart <7350> (my printer) listed as an option when I try to print.

Anyone else have this problem?
Anyone have any ideas for what's going on?

Thanks, all.

Aside from this printing trouble, which I never encountered with Jaguar and XDarwin, OpenOffice is great. And with X11, its integration with the mac desktop is much smoother. Again, aside from the printing issue, I have no complaints. I use it every day and have never had a problem with it. In fact, I prefer it to Microsoft Word, which I also have and don't use. Top notch.

...except that I can't print with Panther.

incedentally, I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem, at least. It means I probably didn't mess TOO much up on my own. =D

hey abhishekit,

have you tried downloading openoffice again and just reinstalling?

I have not, but I still have no luck printing otherwise. I've been thinking of doing that, but I'm so busy these days, I haven't really even had time to think about it.

If you try it, let me know.

hey absurdio
I couldnt check the printing, because the printer we have in our apartment doesnt work with my mac..so sorry, cant give you any input on that.
