trouble staying connected to the internet

While browsing the web I keep randomly getting messages that my computer isn't connected to the internet. Sometimes I can load a new page in another tab, but when I go back to the tab that wasn't working and refresh it still says I'm still not connected. It seems to go in and out pretty often. I don't have this problem on my pc laptop so I don't think its my DSL. It's happened randomly since I got the Air, but seems much more frequent (probably happened 15 times today).

Is anyone else having problems staying connected to the internet?

btw I have an ultimate 11.6 and my transmit rate is fine.

Curious what browser you're seeing this in? Have you tried multiple browsers? Consistent experience across them?

I'm not seeing this with my 13.3 ultimate.

I have the 11" Ultimate and haven't experienced what you described. My Airport setup is not really optimal with the apartment layout and I have a somewhat weak spot at one corner of the apt. I had problem with iPad there, similar to what you are experiencing with your Air, but that's not the case with the Air so I don't believe Wi-Fi on the Air is weaker or spottier than other wifi devices by design.

Just a quick update: The problem was not the macbook air. It was AT&T. There was some issue with the line coming into my house. What was weird is that even when the air reconnected it still could not load the page I was requesting when it went down. I had to restart safari. New pages would load though.

I should have known the problem wasn't with this awesome little machine.

Great to hear your machine is fine. My Macbook Air has been remarkable on wireless connectivity since day 1. My desktop PC and Dell notebook has intermittent connection issues with my router (seemingly disconnects every 30 minutes with page not found errors and dns resolving issues). My Macbook air has not even had this show up a single time since I got it.

Amazing machine.
