Just bought a new iMac and we're having trouble uploading our digital pictures to the internet. In the past, we've used snapfish or shutterfly to order our prints. Snapfish is the preference because you can get prints for
$.09 each. But snapfish is not yet fully compatible with mac. Shutterfly is, but the problem we're experiencing is that it's taking an amazingly long time to upload photos to these 3rd party sites. On our old junker Compaq Presario that we used for about 8 years we could upload say 75 pictures in about 10 minutes. Now it's taking well over an hour to do the same job using the same connection speed. Is there some trick I don't know about on mac? The files are compressed into jpegs so it shouldn't take that long. What am I missing because I can't fathom it's that slow.

It's probably poor browser standards compliance on the sites you're using - less the fault of the Mac and more poor coding.

Which browser are you running? Maybe give Firefox a shot if you haven't already.. or Opera. It's a shame sites don't properly code for Mac but c'est la vie :(

Thanks

Somebody else suggested trying Firefox. Currently I'm just using Safari because it's the default. Thanks for the tip.
