hey guys, i'm new to the boards here (obviously). and i did try doing a search but i didn't get much information at all, so here we go....
i got a 2nd gen iPod touch yesterday for a late christmas gift and ended up getting the 'Connex2Car' cable from Peripheral Electronics to connect my touch to my Alpine stereo (cable model PXA06). initially i had my girlfriend's last gen nano plugged in and it was just fine, but today when i plugged my touch in (for the first time since i installed the cable) there was no sound through the iPod connector. i ended up defaulting to the 3.5mm jack connector anyway but i didn't know if anyone else has found the secret to making this work. i tried switching the 'shuffle' settings which i think one other member did. other than that i have no idea. i can hear the stereo amp thumping when i plug the cable in so there is definitely something going on there, but no sound.
any ideas? are there any simple tests i can do on the touch to rule out a bad connector port? i prefer to keep this cable since it allows me to use my cell phone with the stereo through the 3.5mm jack but i guess if i have to shell out for the alpine iPod cable then that's what i have to do.
thanks in advance guys.
