Trouble with Apple Mail in Leopard - iPhone Related?

Hi

I recently got an iPhone and email is fine on the phone, it's just now about 3 weeks later, i'm having trouble with Apple Mail, i keep getting exclamation marks next to my GMX mail boxes saying something like "X-APOP is not supported, Check account Settings"

This has only started since i got the iPhone are they related in some way?

How to fix the problem also, thanks.

(Is it a failing in Mail i've been meaning to give thunderbird a try for ages would this help solve it?)

Look up the settings and manualley add the account happend to me too with gmail. DONT use the predone it I still dont understand why it wont work.

but it's always been fine, i don't understand why it should have gone funny in the last couple of weeks. I thought it might be iPhone related but looking around it might just be GMX changing some of their systems affecting Apple Mail.
