i've been following this tutorial, of which i've seen a similar one on the apple site, so hopefully you recognize it: http://www.reelsmart.com/2009/01/14/iphone-tip-21-archive-gmail-using-imap-on-iphone/

i’m having a problem once i try to add a new account: i click “other” instead of gmail and then the “add account” has no tabs at the top and no place for me to put my host name and everything under description. am i doing something wrong or is there a way around this?

thank you!

If you have a GMail account, why don't you tap the GMail option? It would be much easier to set up.

that is what i have done up to today but in order to sync your account on your computer and on your iphone, you have to set up your address so that IMAP is supported.

Oh. In that case, what exactly does the screen look like? Are the tabs grayed out? A screenshot would be nice. Here are the instructions to take a screenshot on the iPhone:

Screenshots on iPhone:
1) Open the page you want to take a screenshot of.
2) Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake Button for a second.
3) Release the Sleep/Wake Button.
4) After one second, release the home button.

Saving Pictures from your iPhone on Mac:
1) Connect your iPhone via USB.
2) Open iPhoto.
3) Click your "your iPhone's name" under Devices
4) Select the pictures you want to save. To select multiple photos hold the Command button and click the photos you want.
5) Click Import Selected.
6) On MacRumors, click Manage Attachments in a new post. Select the photos you would like to attach to your post.

There are other ways to do this but this will work for you.
