Okay, I got my Touch two days ago. I jailbroke it and all, but what about the dock. The white plastic thing, I don't know what to with it. It looks like an attachment but doesn't work alone, keeps falling. And yes, i'm talking about the one that comes with the box. What do I do.

This has got to be the 50th post on this subject.

It is a dock adapter, not a dock.

It is meant to be placed in any dock that uses these dock adapters, such as the Apple Universal Dock.

It cradles whichever iPod you have, so the dock connector doesnt get damaged.

Yeah, that dock adapter is built to be put in this...

Well people wouldn't ask if the instructions included with the Touch were more clear.

Apple instructions SUCK! They are horrid, they give no information. The only reason I knew how to use a touch is from the videos I watched.

Oh, and I asked this same question, too. People think it's a dock because it looks like a dock, but it sure as hell doesn't make sense without directions.

I think Apple may have thought that a Touch buyer would have been more knowledgeable about iPods, thus not needing instructions.

I know, I know.

But to some, the touch is their first iPod, and the Touch came with the least amount of instructions. But a simple google search would have yielded pictures.

The touch is my first my-owned iPod. When I say that, I mean it is the first iPod that I got at a store with everything in the box. All my others I just bought the actual iPod from friends and I still knew not to thread the connector into that plastic thing. I would hope most people have the small amount of common sense to understand that that tiny piece of plastic is not a dock.
I mean seriously...

:p

Do you seriously think someone is going to read a 12 page PDF when theyhave a *NEW* iPod sitting next to them?
