i have got a logitech MX revolution, an excellent mouse. when i got my mac i installed logitech drivers and it worked fine. i was able to go to system preferences and then click on the icon and change different options.

because there was a known bug in world of warcraft on mac with logitech mouse i had to install 'MouseSteer' driver, and that stopped the bug. but it was only a 30 day trial. and didnt really like the software. now that i have uninstalled that from the system i decided to reinstall LogitechControlCentre. but after a successful install the mouse is not recognised in the LCC under system preferences. but it does move and click. something else that is also occuring is that the mouse pointer is acting strange. on the dock the icons are not moving or zooming in. when in a menu things are not being highlighted when the mouse moves over either. i know that it is not a problem with the OS as i have a wire, 3 button mouse that works perfectly and things are highlighted and the dock is fine.

i do not want to reinstall Mac OS X either as i simply do not have the time to reinstall everything. and time machine backup system is not active at the moment.

Not sure how you uninstalled Steermouse, but you need to use the uninstall routine it comes with. I ran into the same problem that LCC wouldn't recognize my Wave keyboard or mouse until Steermouse was completely gone.

PS...if you go to Logitech's site isn't there an update that fixes the WoW problem? I don't do WoW, but thought I remembered reading about a fix.

well i have gone to finder and typed in 'mouse' and nothing came up, so does that mean that it is completely gone?

Did you uninstall Steermouse using Help > Uninstall? If not, please remove the Logitech software, reinstall Steermouse and uninstall it using the uninstall command. :)

There is a solution that works.

I had this exact problem with mine then I found a thread somewhere where you have to delete a file that's in one of the Library folders of your mac. It's one of those files that looks like a Lego piece but I forget where it is I am at work so I don't have my mac atm sorry. I'll see if I can find it in the mean time.

Found it!

Delete both of these and you will be all set.
