Hello! I'm new to this whole thing so not even sure if I'm posting in the right section but oh well...!
2 things....
1 - Does anybody know how to actually find Word? I have a MacBook (just a few months old) and I just downloaded Word, and the only way I can access it is to click on a work document already saved, bring up the program and say 'open new document'... OR Click on show in finder - but it keeps disappearing from the dock and I don't actually know how to bring up the applications page, with the list of programs, documents etc on the left hand side, and what's in each of those in the main right hand section of the box. Can anybody tell me?
2 - Does anybody please know how, in Word, to get to the end of a line? It's such a natural reflex for me with a pc to just press the 'end' tab and it's so frustrating that with the Mac, I have to go to all the effort (!) of actually placing the cursor at the end of the line, or holding the right arrow key down for a number of seconds... If i press the down arrow, obviously the mouse will just scroll down the text, instead of to the end of the line...
Any help please, anyone?
Much appreciated!

Let's see:

1.)
Downloaded Microsoft Word?

Illegally? Can't help you there. My suggestion is to buy the program legally.

Legally? Go into HD, then Applications folder, then Microsoft Office folder. Drag the Word program into the dock. It should stay.

2.)
End of the line? Apple and right arrow at same time.

Word is in the Applications\Office 2004/8 folder.

Open your HD from the desktop, then open the Applications Folder, find the Office folder and then Word.

Drag the Word icon to the dock to keep it there, or once it is open, move it tow where you want it on the dock.

Thank you both - Word is successfully permanently in my dock :) Yes, by 'downloaded', I mean bought it and then my friend gave me the Mac back the next day with everything on and sorted... I did say I'm new to this! Another telling sign is that I'm not sure what you mean by 'click on Apple and right' - I get 'right arrow' - but where is the Apple button?! Or do you mean the icon top left of screen?
Thanks again!

the "end" button on the mac could equal "Command" right.
the apple logo on the button has been removed recently...
