Just curious if anyone else has run into this ... I'm trying to hook up my Apple TV to a BenQ DV3080 LCD TV using an HDMI to DVI cable. When it's connected, it doesn't appear the TV is getting any kind of signal.

Replaced the Apple TV and the cable with no success, so i'm at a loss. The support guys at BENQ seemed to think it had something to do with HDCP, but I'm not sure ...

Component Cables work, so that's the back up ... would be nice to get the HDMI output working, as I can then just switch inputs on the TV as my component inputs are already in use.

I presume you made sure TV was switched to the DVI input and I am pretty sure it is not HDCP, as Apple TV does not support it. There are different DVI formats on my TV with very geeky names with numbers that only an engineer in that field would find informative. One of them actually was making the image come out off center. The other one is better, but I can see that it is cropping small slices of the image at the top and bottom. Of course I cannot be sure if it is my TV or Apple TV that causes the problem. Maybe, I should play with more of my TV settings.

Anyways, apparently DVI is not a fool-proof common standard.
