Hey,

I have an iPhone 3G, 2.02 software. I just discovered that fringe (Nevermind...only 1.0 software...but I'm still interested in jailbreaking) allows you to use skype on your iphone...and since I pay 50 cents a call, I'm very interested. I'm just 16, so if I screw up the jailbreaking, I will be SCREWED. iPhones are $800 here....

So, I've read a bit about it, and heard that you can usually restore your phone if something goes wrong....can anyone else give any information about this? What's the TRUE risk I'll brick my iPhone, and if I do brick my iPhone, can I send it into Apple for a replacement? How much would that be?

Thanks for your help, I apologize if this question has been asked frequently. Also, I would use QuickPWN right?

what more info do you even need? just read any of the wazillion tutorials/articles on jailbreaking.

I think that you didn't get a reply because you didn't really ask a clear question - briefly put, if you mess up a software jailbreak, you can undo the mess, you won't have a brick. The forums here are searchable and everything you could do wrong, someone's already done and someone's already fixed.

Because there are so many variations, you won't get it spoon fed to you now - unless and until you do mess up and post the specifics, then there's lots of kind people here who are usually happy to help :)
