Do ya'll think the Spyder is the best one for the money? I've been looking at Pantone's Huey Pro (
http://www.pantone.com/pages/products/product.aspx?pid=550&ca=2) for $129.00 USD.
The Spyder comes in three versions, Express, Suite and Pro. The
only different is the unlock key you type into the software. The Pro
keys costs a lot more. It's all the same software.
For most people the Express is the best option. The limitation is
that you only get the default for most options but these are exactly
what you'd enter anyways. MSRP for the Express version is
about $80 but it is discounted. I think I paid $70 at Fry's.
I have a 2.16Ghz 24" iMac. That is the white one with the "good"
screen. The Apple supplied calibration file was very close to
what the Spyder computed.
The screens are not as good on the new aluminum imacs and you
wil have to darken the room to use the colorimeter. You may not
be able to get perfect color from a reflective screen unless you carfully control the environment
