Hi everyone,

Im one of the handset developers at Truphone and I just wanted to let everyone know that we have just released a new version of our iPhone client. For those who have not used our product in the past, it is primarily a VoIP application that allows you to make low cost calls over the internet.

What you may not know (even if you have used our application in the past), is that we have added instant messaging into the application allowing users to have text based chats with Google Talk, MSN, Skype, AOL and yahoo users. On top of text based messaging you can make VoIP calls to Google Talk and Skype users.

All these features also work when not in Wi-Fi coverage by using Truphone Anywhere for calls (charged at a local rate in your home country and then routed over the Truphone network), and Instant messaging uses the 3G network.

Have a play with the application and let us know what you think !!!

Can you have a number that will route a call to your iPhone?

Your Truphone number is your iPhone number, so if someone rings you from Truphone and your online using Truphone you will receive it in the Truphone application. If you are offline it will be forwarded top your GSM number.

I downloaded Truphone today to take a look. Nice app, but I didn't see anyplace to input SIP information. Does it support outside SIP such as Gizmo5 or no?
