I don't know how many of you guys know or even heard about this browser. It has a strange name but it's quite neat and its from my country Japan.

The UI is pretty stunning and I love how they handle the tab bar. And there are also some other functions that makes this browser easy to use, say, the gestures (and they are awesome!) and a "Tiledtab" review (its kinda like safari 8's show all tabs, but trust me, this came first).

furthermore, it supports Mac, windows, iOS and android.

The biggest drawback that keep me away from using it exclusively is that it's lack of extension supports. I'd like to see 1password comes to it.

Ditto. I gave it a few hours of my time. Lots of wasted space and fluff. Too much attention paid to form with little function to back it up.

Looks like they are up to version 6 for Windows, but only version 4 for Mac. Most recent update for Mac was May 2014 it seems.

Safari in Yosemite

Safari 8 can not show the title at the top of its toolbar.

Sleipnir

Version 4.5.1 (4.5.1) takes an approach to tabs-on-top that allows plenty of space for the title at the top.

At a glance: there's never a page title in the Window menu or Dock menu for the app, and never more than one window. So it's not a browser for me, but I'm glad that airlied posted this to the Yosemite area.

Maybe its culture differences, In Japan this browser takes NO1 market shares and followed by IE 10. But outside asia almost no one knows this browser. Same things happen at other asian made apps. There are tones of apps and softwares are made by asian (Japan, china, korea) companies but only our asain knows that.

Can't find a single bit of data to back up that bold statement. Not even anything to say that it comes anywhere close. Would be interested to see something confirming that.

Opera a better alternative?

Thanks for sharing. I gave Sleipnir a try. I really like the mouse gestures.

The idea of having the tab preview in theory is good but it takes up a lot of space and doesn't even tell you the title of the website without a mouse over.

I don't like the web address input being pushed to the far right.
I also wonder how secure it is as I have never heard of this browser before.

I have just discovered that both these features are available in Opera browser for mac, but executed in a much better way.

Tab preview - simply mouse over the tab and it shows a preview of the page. Much better idea, takes up a lot less space, and then actual preview itself is larger.

Mouse Gestures - Must be enabled first (Opera > Preferences > Shortcuts > Enable mouse gestures.)

I had the same criticisms, also:

• it is essentially a single-window app – so the Mission Control view of application windows, which I use often, can not be used effectively
• neither the Window menu nor the Dock menu shows the title.

Note that the title does appear in the title bar, without a mouse over, when something other than Sleipnir is in front. Screenshot above.
