Luckily my 15Pro behaved quite quite normal from the beginning: not too warm, battery life was ok as long as I didn’t touch Instagram. But the moment I opened this app, all hell broke loose.
But ever since I updated to the 17.1 Beta, things got way better. Phone is cooler und battery life improved significantly. Anybody else experiencing this?

For me the heat problem is only during phone calls. And after restart, sometimes I can call >20mins but somtimes during day phone starts to be hot after few minutes. And now I’m on 17.1.

I have a launch day 15 Pro (not Max). Did not notice any excessive heat until yesterday. Then on a number of calls throughout the day, the phone got very hot after 2-3 minutes, and the battery starting draining quickly while on the calls.

I did a "Reset Carrier Settings" last night, which also rebooted the phone. Have not had any heat or battery drain issues today. So not sure if that did anything, or there is some other variable at play.

Give 17.1. a try. It worked for me and I read posts by people on other threads claiming it helped them with their heat and battery issues too.

There's no way the 15 is being banned on planes. This is so overblown. I've had mine since launch day and there's been nothing out of the ordinary. It really does sound more like rogue code heating up the processor.

That is utter nonsense.

It's what happens when disinformation spreads. Just look at France's stupid method for measuring radiation. Apple had to make a software tweak that makes no difference in the real world but it shuts up France's regulators.

Samsung and Huawei execs are sweating. Foldy phone fanboys are sweating and angry. YouTubers love clickbait. They have an incentive to spray the web with stupid stories.

My 15pm seems fine heat wise but it wouldn’t surprise me if insta is causing a glitch, a little like the shaking cameras from last years 14 launch

Has happened before. Samsung.
Well yeah.. that was completely different, the phones were exploding lol

They ended up discontinuing that phone and buying them back from customers to get them off the market. Phones getting warm to the touch aren’t the same as FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS.

Clicks are their currency and to some of them they are more important than the truth.

That’s not the same thing at all. France was the government, not just people talking s**t on forums, and at least they had a scientific basis for their complaint (no matter how over-sensitive).
