Since doing an update on i pad pro, a new section appeared on safari start page, with frequently visited sites. Tried to remove this, by pressing on each site, which temporarily deletes them but not permanently. I don't have a section in the safari app in settings, that shows frequently visited sites, that I can disable. Want to get rid of it, any suggestions please? Have tried deleting history, but if I go into the site again it reappears!!!!

assuming you’re using iPadOS 15.x: if you scroll down on the start page in Safari you’ll find an Edit-button. Click to customize the start page.

The funny part about this is that there was a bug in iPadOS 15.4 that prevented the frequently visited sites list from working, and now it’s fixed with the update you just installed.

iPadOS/iOS 15.5? Open the Safari preferences and “Delete History and Website data” after customising the start page as described before.

Are you using iPadOS 15.5? Open Safari. Scroll down the start page to its end. There is an Edit-button. Click it. Customize Start Page pops up. Looks like this. Customize. 🤓
