Hello!

For some reason, when i try bootcamping, it partitions the hard drive, and then when it restarts I initially get a blank white screen with no apple logo and a transition into a black screen with a blinking underdash on the top left corner. I have tried using the disk for windows 7 and windows 8 and i have tried it multiple times, with no luck. I have followed everyones instructions and still no luck. :(

Please help me!

Kind Regards,

The startup that you describe is normal behavior for booting into Windows. Your description is exactly what I see when I boot Win 7 on my MacBook.

Do you mean to say that your machine gets stuck on the black screen and fails to proceed further?

Hello, thanks for your reply.

It starts off with a white screen, and then fades onto a black background screen with a black under dash that is blinking. I thought it was going to work, but it stays on that screen with the black background for like ages (gets stuck i think), so then i just have to restart and do CMD + R to go onto Disk Utility and get rid of the partition and start again on Mac OS.

Are you making the Windows partition using the Boot Camp Utility? You can also remove that partition in the same Utility.
If Windows doesn't start properly you can just reboot the computer and hold down the option key to select the Mac startup disk without having to go into the recovery utility.

I know, i have been doing this. Please could you tell me how to bootcamp it properly, instead of it coming up with the black screen etc.?

Please help.

Follow the Boot Camp instructions that are included with the Boot Camp Assistant.

I don't know what else to tell you. There's no way to know what you're doing wrong.
