I, in the past downloaded 3.1.3 from Apple as I thought I had no need for jailbreaking my iPhone 3G. Now I have decided to jailbreak it, I want to use blackra1n as I know it works on 3.1.2 but not on 3.1.3. I would not like to use any other type of jailbreak as I'm sticking to blackra1n. Is there anyway to downgrade my firmware as I need to do it soon I'm stuck.

P.S : I don't need to unlock the phone.

If it's a 3G, just restore it to 3.1.2, then use Blackra1n to JB.

To downgrade you will have to use a shift-restore (Win) or option-restore (Mac) in iTunes and select the 3.1.2 firmware. You may need to be in DFU mode to downgrade.

3GS is different. It can't be downgraded without special signatures saved for each firmware. It's too late to get those signatures, since Apple no longer will sign firmwares prior to 3.1.3. Basically, they'll only let you have the latest firmware.
