There are a couple apps i really need to be able to do on osx thats holding me back from going all the way....

Winmx 2.6....just that no other alternative...

A mpeg editor... like tmpgenc mpeg editor...just to edit out parts of it.. i record tv with a htpc

autogk alternative.... something that enocodes to xvid and thats as easy as autogk.

A xbox tool.. I have a modded xbox that i need to be able to transfer xbox files over..and game iso's... :)

I have a computer i record tv with and i need to be able to manage it all on a mac..

I'm trying to figure out the best and easiest way to upgrade my comptuer setup....

no then?

Ill take that as there isnt any alternatives or versions of those programs for osx.

To be honest I don't know what most of those programs are as I don't use Windows much at all anymore, but I'll do my best to answer.

IIRC, WinMX is some sort of piracy program? Don't do that sort of thing, so can't answer this one. I do know there are other ways to pirate stuff on the Mac though, so you can probably find a replacement.

I used to use TMPGEnc on Windows to do DVD authoring, but I never used the TMPGEnc MPEG editor. Compressor (part of the Final Cut Studio) and MPEG Streamclip are probably the kind of thing you're looking for. MPEG Streamclip is free.

Never used AutoGK but ffmpegX may do what you want, and it's free.

No idea on the XBOX tool, don't have an XBOX.

Not sure what you mean by "manage it all" but there are several companies that make Mac TV tuners. Miglia and Elgato come to mind. Both include software for that sort of thing.

Hope this is somewhat helpful.
