Hey Y'all,

I'm not a big gamer (maybe back in the day, but that was many days ago). I'm looking for a game I can play casually, like a turn based game or a wwf where I don't have to be on at specific times to play but can play when I have a few leisure moments to kill.

I ilke RP type games like LORD (Legend Of the Red Dragon) that used to populate BBS's some 15-20 years ago. I like swat type stuff too.

Ideally, I'd like one that I can play on my MacBook, but access on my iPhone also and still be playing the same in-progress game.

I've tried Infinity Blade, but that turns into a bunch of just me hacking away and isn't very challenging in the cerebral type way. I've tried Myst and its high level of difficulty (despite my Mensa membership) just turned me off.

I'm asking for suggestions please. Thank you.

I dont know of any games you can play on your mac and iphone, is that even possible?

If you want a good cheap iphone game go with the geodefense games.

For your mac, go with Dragon Age 1 or 2 n

It doesn't help to start by saying that you have a Mensa membership (as if high IQ were the only measure of overall intelligence), but here I go:

- you probably won't find any games where you can start in one device and finish in another;

- having said the above, try Wesnoth, which is free for Mac and some 5 dollars for the iPad - probably the best old-school, turn-based and community-supported RPG around. Another great game of the kind is Avernum;

- for slashing and shooting, few games beat Left 4 Dead 2 on the Mac; CoD4 is also very good, as well as Borderlands.

Great advice, thanks guys. I'm going to check those games out now.

@BR, I was actually trying to defuse the expected number of "Gee I thought it was easy" superior elitist type posts by trying to humbly admit my inability to figure out Myst while still retaining a shred of esteem. Went over like a lead balloon I guess, lol.

I learned awhile back that even mentioning Mensa seems to piss people off... :p
