Hi,

My 2G iPhone developed a fault last weekend, and was sent away to Apple for them to fix. Instead of fixing it, they completely replaced the phone with a new one.

I am however unable to unlock etc due to not knowing what software the phone is running. Whenever I hook the phone up to iTunes it wants me to sign up with an o2 contract.

Does anyone know how I can find out which software is on the phone? I just received the phone back yesterday, so it could be 2.0, but wondered if there was a way of checking.

Cheers

It will only allow me to make emergency phone calls. I cannot get past the activation part of Itunes.

Those instructions are for use on the iPhone itself. You can't navigate the phone at all?

Sounds like they returned his phone unactivated. Wouldn't it need to be bypass activated/jailbroken before he can get to the actual home screen?
