Hey guys.....I purchased 3G Unrestrictor awhile back and installed it on my iPhone 3GS. Well I encounter some phone problem so had to get replacement from apple, not just once but a couple of times. I guess there is a limit of how many times you can install 3G Unrestrictor because now when I logged in to try and reinstall it tells me that I have too many phones linked up to the account and to contact Saurik so he may reset or something like that. I have emailed saurik a couple of times already and have not recieved anything back. Does anyone know of another way or it just takes awhile to get a response? Thanks for any help.

That's odd because I emailed when the Facebook 3.0 came out telling him that I was having issues with it crashing and he responded like 15 minutes later. I sent the email to saurik@saurik.com. Good luck

He already paid for it though. Pay again cause the developer doesn't provide good customer service?

Some people put a value on their time...

Say when a vending machine eats your quarter. Are you really going to waste all your time writing to the vending machine owner to get that quarter that you are rightfully entitled to? oooor are you just going to say ef it and move on?

I know I value my time more than than, EVEN if that quarter is technically mine.

I know but its a little different than a vending machine.
It shouldnt take forever or the customer getting ignored while trying to straighten out a situation like that.
If he keeps getting faulty iphones and exchanges them he should keep buying the program over and over again?

Heres some more info to the op.

I agree with you on prinicple

However, Im just saying its 2 bucks, 2 bucks!

I hear you. 2 bucks is nothing but you'd be suprised how much energy and effort some people put for less than that and only on principle:D
And maybe this post and attention to the issue will help more people down the road so they dont have to go thru alot of hassle to get a similar issue resolved.

Thanx for some of the reply. I believe 5 is the limit cause that's how many device I went thru. It's been 5 days and 3 emails without any response. It's true that it's a lot of effort just for 2 dollars but I wish I would have known there was a limit. I mean it's not like I planned to exchange the phone this many time. What an experience I'm having, first all the defects of the phone and now this. Hopefully this will get resolved soon and also this should give some heads up to some people about the download limit.

I wanna just update this thread that Jay has finally responded to my email this morning. I got an email saying that he has increased my limit, which I tried re-downloading just moments ago and everything is great again.

Glad it worked out. Both Jay (Saurik) and Kim (developer of 3GU) are great to work with. And now I know that I can install on more than one device. Thanks!

Glad you got that sorted out.

I was just going to say that I've always gotten pretty good responses back from Saurik. Really impressive if you ask me considering how many people must be emailing him.

According to a recent twitter post. "I spend WAY more time every day answering incoming e-mail than writing code. :( I need to figure out how to scale to more support engineers."

Same Situation

I’m now in the same situation, except that I went from my 2G to a 3GS. The 3GS needed to be replaced and I played with the ones from my parents. Installing Cyntact to show of the nifty little features of Cydia.

So now I’m being patient… waiting for Saurik to crawl forward to my email.

I just wanted to add: this is not about 2$ - this is about being unable to use my Google Account to get all my Cydia Store apps back (far more than 2$). I wouldn’t want to clutter up my digital mess with another account.

I tried it again two times using other emal adresses and
a shorter descrition of the problem but still no awnser.
This is giving me a headache!
