I have a Mini DVI-to-DVI adaptor as well as the main HDMI cord that connects to the television. I own a 46" Samsung HD TV and everything connects and a Mac screen is visible when I connect everything. The problem is that while it's connected, there is an entirely different desktop picture displayed on my TV and I cannot see any of my computer desktop icons (i.e. I can't see my hard drive icon on my screen or my dashboard when I put the mouse at the bottom of my computer like it should). I can get the arrow to display on the TV screen but only when I move the arrow all the way off the screen of my Macbook to the left. Is this a TV format picture issue or is this a Macbook issue? Much obliged to anyone who could assist me in this.
