I called Apple at 1800-MY-APPLE and went to technical support. After repeating my serial number 5 times (got the outsourced rep..), they said they couldn't help me because my complimentary phone service expired. All I want to do is get a replacement battery pack..who do I call? My MBP is still under it's 1 year warranty.

No apple stores..there is a reseller who fixes things though.

I called them again. They're sending me a new battery.

When did apple start outsourcing their support lines? I called back in march and got it was a pleasant experience but now it's all repeat, repeat, explain, repeat.

I've never had any problems when I've called Apple - both experiences I got a really helpful guy who cared about sorting the problem.

Depends who you get I suppose and what time you call - can't imagine the phone clerks will go out of their way if it was a late phone call.
