iPhone Trying to JB &/Or Unlock This Iphone

I just got this iphone 3gs 16gb very cheap used.. It came with 6.1.3 I used ifaith to find the 4.1 shsh and im using ifaith to make the ipsw... With this ipsw am i able to jb / unlock the 4.1 since 6.1.3 is not able to be hacked yet

I noticed I could not get any other shsh so im guessing thats the reason this phone was sold so cheap because it cannot be unlocked easily for ios 6. I dont need aps or anything from ios 6 as my 3g was running 4.3 forever.

Either way, Is there anything else i can do for other shshs or did i do everything i can

also can i jb / unlock the ipsw im making with ifaith in redsnow then ultrasnow an unlock..

or is there an easier way to just unlock in 4.1 so i can use phone.. thanks

You will need to know if you if your baseband is the older downgradable version first

Or just pay for an imei factory unlock and skip the ultra sn0w software unlock

You can only get SHSH that apple is signing. For whatever reason, apple is still signing iOS 4.1 for the 3GS. (You dont need to stitch ipsw to restore 4.1). For jailbreaking purposes, you get either get untethered jailbreak on 4.1 or tethered jailbreak on 6.1.3 assuming the device has no other SHSH blobs stored on cydia's server.

For unlocking purposes, what is the baseband of the device? Check to see if it's a device compatible with the iPad baseband (6.15.00)

I downgraded successfully the baseband from 06.15 to 05.13.04

I have no service with 6.1.3 with my telus sim, So im figuring i need to downgrade...

I thought it was locked to telus, but im guessing its not and i need to unlock, I have no rpoblem doing w.e i need to to get it working as my 3g 8gb is not very good batteyr life anymore.. this ones at 92% while my 3g is already on the charger again....

If you are on the 5.13.04 baseband, jailbreak 6.1.3 using redsn0w and install ultrasn0w. You'll have a working software unlock. Do know that 6.1.3 is a tethered jailbreak!

Edit: ultrasn0w is a package from cydia!

If you had ipad baseband on it, ,it should have been unlock & with no working GPS

Yeah, I tried that twice, couldnt see cydia... cuz id love to just use the phone with 6.1.3 lol, cuz no service bug is really wack

It brought back down the baseband to 05.13.02 I see Cydia on 4.1...

What do i gain from 6.1.3 anyways...

Do i get that cool messaging part wher ei see when people read the message?

Are you saying you were not able to jailbreak the device? Which version of redsn0w are you using? I think you need to point it to a 6.0 ipsw too

About 3 generations in iOS development: imessage, icloud, better performance, also most app store apps need 6+ nowadays.

Go back to 6.1.3 and jailbreak with redsn0w

you'll need to download the 6.0 IPSW as well.

go to redsn0w Extras/select IPSW and select the 6.0 IPSW

no go back to main menu and hit jailbreak.

you'll have a tethered jailbreak with all the modern goodies.

Ok maybe since i have 0.9.15b2 and not b5 is why it didnt work, im going to try the update again now. dling the 6.1.3 restore


so i install the 6.1.3 clean with i tunes then redwnos with the 6.0 ipsw

I cant find Ultrasn0w in cydia to unlock.. I couldnt get the simcard to work in 4.1 unlocked aswell came up as Telus 8.0 and i see the IICI but i see No service, just like in 6.1.3

Is baseband my problem or something?

Take a screenshot of what sources you have. You need ultrasn0w to unlock the device. Go to changes and click refresh and see if ultrasn0w shows up now

I think ive bricked my phone somehow, blank screen after trying to tether boot up in redsn0w it goes waiting for reboot then hangs...

Its really weird, takes like 5mins to get it to start back up again.. I think I might downgrade it one last time to 4.1 since its just not able to unlock the 6.1.3 i cannot get my sim to work.

It shouldn't take 5 minutes. Did you update to 6.1.3 using a no baseband upgrade custom ipsw?
