Hello, how are you?

Since it's 2021 I thought to finally go SSD on my old trusty Mac Pro 5,1. Since I use 2TB for my Mac partition (HDD and just 1TB for my Bootcamp partition/HDD, I decided to upgrade Bootcamp before Mac. I bought a Crucial 1TB SSD on Prime Day.

My Mac uses all 4 hard drives bays: Slot 1 has the Mac partition, Slot 2 is Time Machine, Slot 3 is Bootcamp (Windows 7 originally, later upgraded "in-Windows" to Windows 10 Legacy) and Slot 4 is a backup for Windows. For this operation, I temporarly took out the Windows Backup.

First of all, I tried to simply clone the partition with Disk Utility (via the function "Restore from disk") and an USB-C to SATA cable. The cloning took 4-5 hours, and went smoothly.

I took out the old Bootcamp HDD and put the SSD inside, with the special tray OWC makes for SSD.

I turn on the Mac, wait for Mojave to boot up (I have a non-flashed RX 580, so not boot screen) and then I select the Bootcamp SSD for the next boot. But, when I try, I get a black screen that says the volume is "not bootable".

I the think "maybe I have to set it up with the Bootcamp Assistant".

And here is the BIG problem.

When I click on the Bootcamp Assistant software, I get a pop-up that says my Mac doesn't support Boot Camp.

Is it because my Mac Pro is from 2010 and I use Mojave? That means I won't be able to install a Bootcamp partition ever again?
Do I have to spend 60€ on Winclone? It is just a simple matter of "try to reset the PRAM"?

Thanks in advance for all the help you can offer.

you may simple DD the Windows Disk to the SSD if it has same size.

example (transfer disk numbers, take care not to wipe the wrong disk):

Code:
diskutil list

/dev/disk1 (internal, physical):
   #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
   0: GUID_partition_scheme *120.0 GB disk1
   1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1
2: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 119.7 GB disk1s2

/dev/disk9 (external, physical):
   #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
   0: FDisk_partition_scheme *750.2 GB disk9
   1: 0x27 21.5 GB disk9s1
   2: Windows_NTFS ACER 309.3 GB disk9s2

sudo dd if=/dev/disk1 of=/dev/disk9 bs=512k

if=original, of=copy

if resource busy then unmount the disk.
