I've never did this before on an ipad but this is for my Fiancee who will be taking the ipad back to the Philippines the issue is I set up everything by have a apple account but say for example I want to send myself a message from the ipad my name doesn't show up.. and on my phone her name is still shown in green.

Same goes for facetime.

*edit

Holy crap it's restrictive... it says You must have a SIM associated with an Apple device for +63 (phone number) to be used for iMessage and FaceTime.

For what reason? What if someone wants just the ipad and not the phone?

You use the email address linked to iCloud as the iPad iMessage account.

iMessage replaces regular SMS on iOS for linked numbers. It's like RCS. If the number is linked to iMessage but is used on an Android phone, then the Android phone will not receive SMS from all iMessage users.

Yep you can’t just randomly assign a phone number to iMessage/FaceTime - phone numbers get assigned by activating on an iPhone using that number. The corollary is - if the number isn’t used on an iPhone, it can’t be used for iMessage or FaceTime.

You can sent messages & FaceTime calls to her Apple Account - just not her phone number.

So how can I do it? I was able to send a message to the ipad but my phone number showed up and not my contact info same happens with facetime or imessage
