Trying to share Airport Though Ethernet

Helllooooooo,

I wonder if anyone can tell me if my imac 24" can do the following.

I have seen everywhere that you can share your eithernet connection through the airport but can you do it the other way.

Basically i have a mac in my room and also a PC, i want to be able to plug a cable from my PC to my iMac and then browse the internet using my iMacs airport connect to my wireless router downstairs.

If this can't be dont i will just by a wireless dongle, but was wondering if there was a cheaper way...........

i'm doing this with my xbox 360 through the ethernet, what you'll need to do is go to system prefs>> sharing. then enable internet sharing and make sure ethernet is ticked in the box on the right hand side. on the windows side i think you go to control panel>>network and internet. i'm not quite sure after that as i use windows with Parallels which i think sorts my internet connection slightly different but that should at least put you in the right ballpark of where you should be heading.

If you are thinking of trying this with an XBOX 360, don't. You can get it to work but it is a HUGE PITA, because then the NAT or DHCP (or both) won't work properly.

NAT problem

i have this set up on my imac and the only snag i am running into is that my network is set to strict... im running airport extreme base station off my modem and have my xbox on ethernet to my imac. any help on what i can do to get it open and be able to connect to "all" my friends? thanks
