Hello,

So I had week 32 jailbroken, updated 1.1.2, ATT activated phone. Used the Jailbreaking Iphone 1.1.2 - A n00bs guide. It worked great, then I tryed to unlock using "hacktheiphone 1.1.2 unlock easy guide for windows" it went through the process, but could not use any other SIM other than ATT. I was reading the guide on iphone.unlock.no/. It said that the baseband needed to be downgraded ( I had 04.0213_G) in order to SIM unlock (or thats how I understood it) so I did...thats when things went bad..I followed the steps per the guide, but after restoring to 1.1.1, I get a error 1011. I ran Ibrick to get it out of restore mode and now I get "Repair needed. Iphone Cannot make or receive calls" I dont know what to do next. I want to end up with an jailbroken, unlocked Iphone...Please help.

Thanks

Ed

PS

I did a restore to 1.1.2 and its working now..I still want to know why my intial unlock did not work.

there is no way to unlock a 1.1.2 iphone... the only way to get it to work with another provider is to turbosim it etc:eek:

i have an unlocked 1.1.2/04.0213_G iphone on tmobile (USA)

to get there was hell because i screwed something up along the way and got the same message you got. to fix, i went all the way back to 1.0.2, revirignized the modem firmware back to the 3.14something, then followed the suggested upgrade path to 1.1.1, then oktoprep, then 1.1.2 which updates the modem firmware to 04.0213, then the developer version of anysim which can unlock the 04.0213 modem firmware.

i dont have the time to try to help you through it, I just wanted to say have faith, it's possible, and give you the basic outline of how i did it.

There is no way to software unlock OTB 1.1.2 iPhone's....

You can be running an unlocked 1.1.2 iPhone if it didn't come with the new baseband.

It did not come with 1.1.2, its a week 32. I updated it to 1.1.2. I've now downgraded to 1.1.1 and 04.01.13g, jailbroke it again, Anysim it again all runs good but when a put another SIM in it says it detected a diferent SIM and needs to be connected to Itunes. What im not sure about now is, if I should be doing the "bypass activation part from "slide for emergency, *#301#..." I've been going straight to "restore" in Itunes since I've been using the Iphone activated from ATT through Itunes since August. BTW I want to use ATT in the states, but a travel international alot and want to be abled to use local SIMs.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

the jailbreakme method should be used with a different sim card installed and hoked up too wifi obviously dont restore and plus man ust get ipsf it works great now imagine you go to europe and you have to restore the phone because o something the unlock will still be there with ipsf(iphonesimfree) and anysim will not you just have to jailbreak it thats all oh and it works on all basebands :)

How in the world did you downgrade the Baseband to 04.01.13_G while doing the Downgrade to 1.1.1? I tried but only firmware downgrades not the baseband. The baseband stays at 04.02....

I used "How do i downgrade a 1.1.2 phone." from http://iphone.unlock.no/ U have to downgrade the firmware, then the baseband.

Umm, no. You can easily brick your phone doing this though, if that's what you're into.

How do u resolved 'repair needed' error?
please tell me, i stucked on same screen for more than 2 weeks, no fix as of now.. :(

With the phone powered off, connect it via USB while holding the Home button. Keep holding the button until you see the iTunes/Cable icon on the iPhone indicating it is in restore mode. Then when in iTunes, try restoring to the 1.1.2 firmware (option + click Restore, then navigate to the .ipsw file) downloaded from Apple's site.

iTunes will probably throw up an error at the end of the restore, showing the phone in Restore mode. Launch Independence if on OS X and that should kick it out of restore mode.

This is what fixed my corrupted baseband problem. From there you can then downgrade to 1.1.1 and perform the AppSnapp jailbreak.
