What do people use to convert .ts files into one MP4 file? I've downloaded a couple of TV shows in HD from the Internet an am trying to piece them together into one MP4.

I have tried VH but get a divide by 0 error at the beginning of the conversion. They seem to play all ok in VLC though.

MPEG Streamclip. You will need the mpeg2 plug-in for QT ($20 from Apple.com), but it works great. On a mac of course.

Not if someone copied them from their DVR and uploaded them without doing any conversion or compression. Then it would be a .ts file. Just guessing here.

Yep that's right. I've got about 35 .ts files all around 100 MB in size.

I may have a play with Streamclip but I don't have the QT MPEG2 plug-in though :(.

Try VLC it plays .TS files (Well On PC At least worth a try as it is free).

Edit: It also can convert .TS to .MP4 as wel

if it's a video_ts folder, you can convert that for appleTV or ipod (both have great settings) with a program called handbrake. this program is awesome. you can also rip straight from dvd, but that can wear your dvd drive down over time.

Help with converting to MP4!

Hi guys!

Yesterday I used MPEG Streamclip for the first time, and it offers a lot of great possibilities. I tried to convert a Video .ts folder to a MP4 file for my iPhone, in which I succeeded very easily, but I noticed that the audio wasn't synchronized to the video. Can someone please explain me how to do that?

So basically my question is: how to synchronize audio and video when converting Video .ts to a MP4 file.

So basically my question is: how to synchronize audio and video when converting Video .ts to a MP4 file.

EDIT: the .ts files that you have, is the audio in sync with the video to start with? Or does it go out of sync after you convert?

My first thought would be to double check the framerate (fps) of the files you are trying to convert. If you are trying to convert .ts files from The States (?) they may be 23.976 fps (NTSC). I have found some (Lost Season 4) that are 60 fps (twice 30 fps?). PAL is 25 fps by the way.

I am not a video expert by any means, just from my experience. Someone may want to correct me on this one. But make sure you convert with the same frame rate otherwise you will get sync problems.

I use a little app called MediaInfo (check Version Tracker for it) which shows the specs of just about any video file so I know I'll get the conversion right.

Hope that helps.

move to ts file conversion on iPhone

Hi Jurry,

I want to convert mov file to ts file on iPhone; can you please guide me the steps and library which can be used in the case.

Thanks in advance.

This is an easy one

Handbrake will convert .ts files to friendlier formats, no problem.

Just did this with a 1080i MPEG2 .ts file of a popular rap group's new promo video.

for all my video conversions...

I use Video Monkey. I don't convert much, but seems to work well. Just finished converting a .ts file right now.

(this is kind of an old thread but since it comes up as one of the top Google results and I'm converting an episode of Walking Dead right now, I guess I'll put in my two cents for 2012 and keep this zombie alive.)
