I mean the aren’t making the A11. So that’s our answer. Apples gonna skip a generation. It’s probab necessary if the iPad Pro 2018 will get a 6 or 8 Core CPU.

If true I rescind my previous claims that I’m skipping it. Can you guys imagine an A12X on a industry first 7nm die. That’s gonna be supper battery efficient.

TSMC has limited production capability to make an order the size of Apples A12 order. Everything else stops. Apples orders are made in Fab 14 in China the largest of all. Once they start production on a new components that’s all they do.
It’s possible they could be making A11 somewhere else. But Apple QC people have living quarters at Fab 14 in Shenzou they have all their over sights teams go to Fab14 basically everything thatApple does is done at Fab14.

Honestly though, lackluster “X” sales are exactly what the doctor ordered for those of us who are simply consumers (and not shareholders).

I’d love to see Mac sales drop off a bit too so as to hold their feet to the fire even further. It will only spurn more innovation and less resting on their laurels.

Or Apple could interpret dropping Mac sales as a sign that Macs are no longer necessary and shift all of their computing products to iOS devices. Be careful what you wish for.

With all of the time and money the have invested in R&D, infrastructure, etc., I simply don’t see that happening any time soon.

From what I read, X sales were a disappointment and production has halted. Apple even cancelled part orders for the X.

I think we're going to see a different story on Tuesday when Apple reports earnings. When analysts cherry pick what they want from "supply chain rumors" to spin their narrative before earnings, it's usually in the name of stock manipulation. If you read actual well thought out analysis and look at real market research, the iPhone X is actually doing fine.

As far as HomePod, I don't know that I believe the FUD associated with that either. Apple had always planned on diversifying their manufacturer list for HomePod, so the order cuts for one supplier could just be due to that. Or it could be that Apple never planned on making as many as analysts think they should be making. I'm not going to say it's a hit product (yet), but I also think it's way too early to say. It's going to take more than a few months to find out if the HomePod eventually succeeds or not. I would say it will take more like a year or two to really see what HomePod's real trajectory is, and I believe Apple will make the necessary adjustments to the product to make it more viable for the mass market.

What frustrates me the most about Apple is not all these ridiculous rumors that happen to manipulate stock price. It's that Apple is so secretive and never attempts to take control of the narrative. They let the media grab on to a story and run with it unabated. Because of this, during the days right before earnings where Apple isn't allowed to comment on financial stuff, the negative news cycle goes NUTS because Apple didn't do anything to control the narrative when they could.

The "Apple is doomed" crowd will always say that this is because the rumors are true. But in my years as an Apple user/watcher, I know that is almost never the case. I will never understand why they let the bitter, cynical tech journalists and money grubbing Wall Street analysts control their image.

That article does not state that at all. They're just ramping up on A12. That may not be mutually exclusive.
