Help me understand this, because I've never seen the point of thin sleeves like these. Do you use them just to protect the hardware from scratches and such? Its obviously not protection against bumps, dents, and dings...why use them? I keep mine in a Tom Bihn Brain Cell because its protected from anything but the worst drops or other damage, but I can't see the point of a neoprene sleeve unless you're just carrying your laptop around all day, naked in your hand with no case or bag or anything.

simple..scratches, unless you want to put you laptop in your bag with other things that will scratch the metal? and did not fancy the hard cases. I cannot see any scenario why the harder case will be better for impact protection unless you drop it?
