Tucano MBP 15.4" Neoprene "Elements" Sleeve

Does anyone have it? i'm thinking of buying it, but it's somewhat hard to find and was wondering how people feel about it (e.g. how is the fit, padding, etc.) because the incase sleeve is too big! thanks!
 
I googled for it and it's those "MB" and so on? I thought those where boring and got the mickey mouse one, but maybe it's me who isn't stylish and clean enough..
 
I have purchased the limited addition tuscano neoprene case and it is a very snug fit indeed! also have protection for the zip so no scratches, very pleased with it! I can post some pics tonight if needed

It looks like they are the same on the inside, just the exterior is different.
 
Pics of Tuscano second sleeve (i think)

Here are the pics I promised. This is the Tuscano roma (ltd edition), has a zip cover to stop scratching the MBP and is a really snug fit. I'm really happy with it. Sorry about the bad light in the pics, 2 bulbs have gone in my room and its raining outside!

Help me understand this, because I've never seen the point of thin sleeves like these. Do you use them just to protect the hardware from scratches and such? Its obviously not protection against bumps, dents, and dings...why use them? I keep mine in a Tom Bihn Brain Cell because its protected from anything but the worst drops or other damage, but I can't see the point of a neoprene sleeve unless you're just carrying your laptop around all day, naked in your hand with no case or bag or anything.

I got mine because I don't want scratches all over the metal of my MBP. I carry my computer in a backpack full of other things and I figured, what's $20 more to protect the beautiful look of my $3000+ computer. It's not thick, so it fit nicely in my bag which is padded and protects against bumps and dents. I consider it one of the best purchases I have made besides the purchase of my MBP.

I have this case, and it fits my 17" MBP like a glove. It also has a lip around where the zipper is to protect from any damage that may occur there. I love it!

simple..scratches, unless you want to put you laptop in your bag with other things that will scratch the metal? and did not fancy the hard cases. I cannot see any scenario why the harder case will be better for impact protection unless you drop it?
 
I thought it was thick enough to give some protection, but maybe not, haven't seen it in real life. I've seen the ones with multiple layers and with "plastic cells" within them, they look like they can handle quite a beating but the basic look of them was a turnoff for me. They where to damn ugly =P, but I guess they are nice anyway :)
 
I'd make that judgement once you get everything in the mail. Put the comp in the sleeve and see if you would feel comfortable with just that protecting it. I personally got a laptop backpack cause I wanted to be absolutely sure my computer was safe and secure. Also I needed a backpack. ;)

The Brain Cell from Tom Bihn isn't a hard case, its just a thicker and more protective soft one rather than a simple neoprene sleeve. Protects against bumps and dents with the same scratch protection as thinner neoprene sleeves.

The backpack I have and plan on using for school is a Deuter (not sure what model) and has a "pouch" in the back for a camelbak bladder. I just removed the bladder and my 17" MBP in my Tucano sleeve slides in for a very nice fit. there is plenty of padding protecting from bumps on the outside and the pouch doesn't quite reach the bottom of the bag so I don't have to worry about the edge of the MBP getting banged up. I think it should work wonders, and it also has one of those rain covers that zip into a pocket in the bottom in case I ever need to use that. Not a bad little gem for $70.
