I'm not sure where the best place to discuss Turbo.264 would be. I have seen some threads here. There are no forums at elgato that I can find, so I'm going to post here.

I'm still having random sync problems, even though this thread and many others claim that software updates have fixed it. Most of the time, the conversion is great. Sometimes, there is nothing I can do, and I get sync problems. And by "most of the time", I mean only about 2/3's of the time I get success. It's not like 90%+ success.

I have found that converting for Apple TV is the most problematic, and that if I convert for iPod-High, I get much better results. But I've recently tried to convert a movie that I own and cannot get any conversion option (including custom) to solve the sync problem. And I can't find any options to force audio syncing.

Am I missing something? Is ANYONE ELSE still having audio sync problems? I'm running a MBP Santa Rosa chipset. I don't have other apps running while the conversion is taking place (not that it should matter). Any ideas?

No the latest Update fixed the Sync issue for me, sometimes I get sync problems on the ATV but I fix it by pausing the ATV for a sec then continuing,.

Does anybody have a good suggestion of a forum that can help me address this issue? I wish that I could find an elgato.com-supported forum. Am I missing something, or does elgato not provide any forum or direct means for consumers to communicate publicly back and forth?

I was having good luck with the latest Turbo.264 software until tonight. I transcoded a 2.5 hr DVD to iPhone and the audio was 135 frames out of sync. I used QuickTime Pro to "shift" the audio forward using info from here:

Edit: When pasting in the audio, it worked better for me when I chose "Add to Movie" instead of "Add to Selection and Scale"

Turbo 264 HD sync problems for years without solution

I too have had chronic problems with sound drifting far out of sync by the end of long files. So much so that the resulting files are useless. I've used several versions of the Turbo HD software over the years and have had this problem with about 25% of the files I attempt to convert. I've had this happen on both my MacBook Pro and on my Mac Mini. Both Intel machines. This happens most often with conversions of VOB files in VIDEO_TS folders of my ripped DVDs when converting using the pre-canned Apple TV preset in the Turbo HD software. This also happens frequently with M2T files I grab from my Scientific Atlanta cable box. For speed sake, I always use the Turbo HD USB hardware module. I have yet to find a solution to this problem.

I was the proud owner of the Turbo.264 also, then upgraded to the newer HD version....always had these sync issues and Elgato were hopeless at helping. Had hoped the HD version would be better but have also stopped using it.

My final solution was just that...I stopped using it. Sorry, but I persisted for a couple of years with the device and the no-solution elgato help. The results were so random I just gave it away as a bad joke.

Sync issues

I have found some times I also have sync issues.
I have found if I rip / record HD content I need to convert 720 HD.
If I have non HD content I need to convert it to apple tv format.
The apple tv seems to have issues(sync) playing hd content coverted to apple tv format and vice versa.
I haven't really tried hd 1080 convert yet because apple tv really only supports hd 720.
