Turbo Boost Specs not Mentioned ?

Maybe I missed it but didn't see any reference to the CPU turbo boost speeds?

That would really suck and would definitely not make the Core-i transition with Intel IGP worth the switch from C2D and Nvidia GPU.

Why is it I am even more disappointed than I figured I would be? I expected disappointment and frustration and I have found it.

I hope it's actually there, but perhaps Apple just didn't throttle the CPU like they did with prior generation MBAs?

I was under the impression that they were using these processors:-

The 1.6Ghz version turbo boosts to 2.3Ghz

We all know these CPUs are capable of Turbo Boost 2.0. In the MBP and iMac sections of the apple.com website, it clearly states such. However, in the MBA section there is NO such mention.

It would not surprise me if the functionality is disabled. Apple has always throttled the CPU in MBAs and this would be another form of that.

If someone wants to prove to us that the Turbo Boost feature is implemented on these specific MBAs please show me anywhere on Apple's website where that is clear.

I know the Intel specs on the chips but that isn't relevant.

With the first gen i5, they did not hyperthread (ie virtual cores), so like an i5 quadcore would report 4 cores, while the i7 quad would report 8 cores.

The new Sandy Bridge chips (i5 and i7) are all hyperthreading...so when you open your activity monitor graph you will see 2x your cores (The new MBA will show four cores (two physical and two virtual).

This is my point. Apple has always messed with throttling CPUs in the MBA. It possibly didn't throttle the CPU but simply disabled TurboBoost functionality. It wouldn't surprise me at all. In addition, Apple would advertise the technology on apple.com if it had the tech working. It is advertised on other Mac pages.

I think there is no Turbo Boost.

I have seen some pictures trickling that show four threads on the i5 (dual core) models. But I have not run across another app besides this one that shows (while running OS X) what frequency the cpus are currently running at.
