i would like to but an iphone and use it in Southeast Asia. I would definitely use a local sim.

can i use a turbo sim and have full functionality of the phone.

Thanks in advance.

If you are not using your original sim & carrier, how would the use of a turbo sim be detected ?
 Who would you expect to detect it ?? Just take it out before you go into an Apple store.

The turbo sim will either work or not work with your phone and the local sim.

As far as the functions available, that would be determined by the turbo sim and the local carrier and how they work together.

The iPhones that are sold in Malaysia, Singapore, & Thailand are sold already unlocked (in other words, they never were locked)
However, in Indonesia & Philippines they are sold locked to carriers.

If you take an iPhone into the Apple Store to get fixed and its jailbroken, that might void your warranty. But I don't think Apple is constantly checking the SIM of iPhones that are supposed to be locked (over the air) and then blacklisting them. I hope that they're not.:p
