iPhone Turn car off and music starts playing on phone

So most of the time I’m using Spotify or Podcasts playing in the background while Waze is on CarPlay.

The issue is most of the time I will turn my car off, unplug it from USB and put my phone in my pocket. Then I notice my phone is playing music still but through the phone speakers.

is there any way to fix this?

iOS 13 by chance? Apple **** the bed with Bluetooth in 13. People are getting disconnects, no sync, no notifications and weird volume issues.

I find with IOS 13.1.2 with carplay - when I unplug etc. The music display shows on the phone screen but it isn't actually playing, goes away from screen in a few minutes. - Before 13 I did find it played after phone
