turn off apple tv 2 from xbmc

i hate having to exit xbmc to the apple tv menu to put the darn thing to sleep. i know there are automatic screensaver and timeout settings for this but a quick shortcut from xbmc would be great. is there a option i just don't know about? or is this not possible. something like holding menu and up for 5 seconds will tell the apple tv to sleep no matter what your running. let me know if i'm making any sense.

There isn't much savings gain from having it sleep. It'll still use 5-7 watts of power no matter if its sleeping or running at full.

The hold select works fine from the apple tv menu. But does not work from the xbmc menu.

i use plex on mine, it works in there, tried it before i suggested

try the xbmc forums?
