I installed Lion GM on two machines, a 2008 unibody MB 13" and a late 2010 MBA 11". It's kind of weird that the MBA 11" doesn't have it, but the MB 13" has the Mobile Me sync icon in the menu bar (the one that looks like two spinning arrows). Since I don't have Mobile Me anyway I'd really like to get rid of this icon but I can't find the setting for it. Anyone have a clue?

Drag it off the bar while holding either command or alt, I don't remember which.

System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync tab > uncheck Show Sync Status in Menu Bar

Or hold Cmd and drag it off as noted above.

He says he doesn't have MM though, so he can't sign in to uncheck that box.
