Is there any way of turning off the Parked Car updated notification in iOS 17? I don’t see the option in Settings -> Maps anymore to control that.

I don’t really want to turn off all notifications for Maps, but I don’t need this one popping up constantly.

I’ve never seen that in my life. Any chance of a screenshot please?

I should clarify, the Apple maps app will show where my car was parked but I never get notifications for it.

Not my photo but this is basically the notification I get now most times leaving my car when I'm outside my house.

To see that option, you need to have Location Services turned on and also Significant Locations

Settings -> Maps -> Scroll down to “Show Parked Location”, and it’ll disable the feature.

Alternatively if you want the feature but don’t want the notification only, you can disable Maps’ notifications.
Yup, that's what every article online says, but that option isn't there on my phone? So weird?

I have location services turned on for Maps.

This feature has been super annoying since I had Show Parked Location OFF for as long as I can remember and the notifications would keep popping up starting from mid-iOS16 cycle for me. No matter how often I turned it on and then back off, I would get the notification every time. Yeah I could have turned off all map notifications but my parked car would still show as a waypoint in Maps. Not the end of the world, just annoying.

But as mentioned above, it does seem that Significant Locations controls the availability of this toggle in Maps settings. I turned off Sig Loc and Show Parked Location is no longer available. I did have to force close Settings to see the change after turning Sig Loc on and off, though.

But being that others don’t see this setting and I’ve had it explicitly off, it seems like a bug.

Thank you both. I was missing the fact that Significant Locations was a separate setting. Once I enabled it, closed System Settings the Parked Car location was shown in Maps and I could turn off. I subsequently went and turned significant locations back off again.

We’ll see if this helps.

I continue to receive these parked car notifications even though I specifically have the setting off and Sig Loc disabled.

A minor issue overall but just strange and annoying that there’s a specific setting to turn this feature on or off and it doesn’t work for some of us…
