My old iPod Video is pretty much useless since I got the iPhone. Question is, what might be a good use for it? I know I could sell it for parts, but I'm more interested in making it into something useful.

I've found a few guides that detail how to turn an iPod into a universal remote control, however every guide requires a Pocket PC. Does anyone know of a way to do this without a Pocket PC?

I do not think you can do this with an iPod Classic - afaik it doesn't have any means to transmit Data wireless. No Bluetooth, WLan, Infrared etc. = no remote.
