I have the volume for the ringer all the way down by pressing the side buttons. How do you also turn off all sounds so if I open a webpage and an ad pops up or if I'm playing a game, no sound will play? Is there an easy way to turn off all sound at the same time?

Thanks.

yeah, you've got a rectangular button on the upper left side... it's quite easy to use...

The phone has actually two sets of sound controls. The simplest way to think of it, imho, is there is ringer sound, and system sound.

Here's what I do to ensure silence. Use side buttons to turn ringer all the way down. Flip side switch downward so you can see orange (it's the switch above the side buttons).

Then I double-tap the Home button to bring up the "recently used" apps menu. Scroll left to the volume slider bar there. Slide it all the way down.

That's it. HTH

That only mutes Ringer, which includes phone ringing and message alerts and related. Other apps are on a different volume control. Plus, other apps can control the volume themselves. You can easily run into situations where the Mute switch does not affect some things.
