is there a config file where I can turn of daemons from starting each time I boot. Still kindof new to nix type os's and need some pointers.

I installed apache webserver through fink.
and I dont want my machine starting up the webserver evertime I boot up.

I want to turn off the httpd

But even for future ref. I would like to be able to toggle what daemons startup when I bootup or login.

There's no "toggling" available for many (most?) of the daemons.. But many of them don't "turn on" unless you spcifically set them up to turn on.

Apache (1.3) was alrady installed by default on your Mac. No need to reinvent the wheel with fink, but anyway, turning it off should be as easy as going to the Sharing prefpane in System preferences.
