I’m just curious if it’s ever necessary to turn the iPad Pro completely off? Is it better just to turn the Wi-Fi off and put it to sleep in the evening? What about for charging?

Maybe turn it off once a year and that should be fine, but you could probably get away with never doing it

No need to turn it off unless you won’t be using it for awhile. I have my old iPad that’s only used for certain tasks every few months so it stays off except when using it.

Wi-fi on and charging in the evenings. That takes care of daily iCloud backups, too.

I just hard reset the iPad when needed. Typically 1-2 times a week now with iPadOS 13 & 14. Very rarely with iOS 12, 10 & older.

I power mine down usually when I’m traveling by air. This way, I’ll have a full charge by the time I’m checked in my hotel room.

I never turn mine off. It gets rebooted but that's it. I do take the Pencil off though, that seems to drain the battery for me if the iPad is in transit. Also the only time it goes into Airplane Mode is on an airplane.
