Since iOS 14, my ripped films are showing in my iPads Movies section on the Library in TV app. These are ones that I had copied over, then deleted after watching.

There’s no way to remove them from there, from what I can see!!

Anyone else? Anyone managed to remove them?

You can reset the Apple TV via preferences/system/reset or have a look in the Apps section of the Preferences, sometimes you can clear play history or remove files there.

Not on the AppleTV. On the TV app on my iPad. As per my OP. If it was my Apple TV I would have posted in the tvOS forum. 👍🏻

Also, if it was on my AppleTV, why would you recommend totally wiping the AppleTV for that? That’s extreme.

No one else having this issue, or know how to sort it? I've reported, but no other reports, apparently.

Am I understanding this correctly: You want to remove your movies from your iPad?

It’s my own ripped movies that were downloaded to my iPad and have since been removed. They still show in the library under the other sections (Recently Purchased, Movies). Seems like they stay in your library permanently now.

Now that iOS 14 is out properly. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Screenshot from my iPad. A DVD I ripped (which I own), and copied from my Mac, through the TV app to my iPad. After watching it, I removed it from my iPad, same way as you would do normally.

When I went into Recent Purchases, it was there still, but definitely not in the downloaded section and definitely not on my iPad at all when checking through Storage in Settings.

Tapping on Play throws up the unable to play content error

Really wanting to get rid of it, and other things where the same has happened.

Never happened on iOS 13.

One complication for removing movies is where they are stored. Are they stored in iCloud, or are they local downloads? I have a lot of movies which show on my iPad but they physically aren't there - they are on iCloud.

You might want to try iMazing. It has a movies section which has a delete option.

As per my OPThese were tv shows and films that I’d ripped locally. Copied over locally using Tv on the Mac. Watched on my ipad, then deleted from my iPad.

Was never an issue prior to iOS 14, and I’ve been doing this since at least iOS 4.

They’re not showing on my iPad in the Storage section. They are not showing on imazing.

It’s like somehow it’s recognising my local rips and creating some entry in the iCloud side, which cannot be removed or redownloaded, but it’s still local to my iPad, as my iPhone does not see them.

Going to do a clean install of my iPad. See if that works. Since it’s bugging me to the point of doing that now.

The "master" ripped copy is on a Mac? Where in the filesystem? Where do they show up in the TV app? After watching them on your iPad you deleted them from the iPad, but not the master copy on your Mac?

It was on the Mac only to copy to the iPad. As soon as it was in my iPad, it was removed from the Mac (went to the new home on my NAS, for Plex).

it was in the TV App on the iMac first, dragged & dropped to the iPad. Deleted on Mac. Then when I finished watching in the iPad, I deleted it from Downloaded. (Double checked in storage, deffo not hiding in the iPad)

when I went into the TV section on the iPad, I’d see various Shows that I watched and deleted long ago.

I never see the same happen on the Mac.

Wiping the iPad & starting fresh seems to have done the trick, but no telling if it comes back. Also station option.
