you shouldn't need anything that complicated or expensive. those are for tvs that only have coax input

hdmi to s-video or composite video should do

For not much more than the cost of one of those <modulators> converters you could get a modern flat panel screen.

I suspect that's not the point. LCD TVs of that size are practically free nowadays, but there are people out there repurposing CRTs for aesthetic and nostalgia value. I have a friend who keeps a little portable CRT set running connected to an Apple TV specifically for the purpose of watching old TV shows. It sounds corny but it looks very neat in person.

Until recently my local pizza joint had a little CRT on the counter tuned to sports and it looked really cool. We all see a million LCD displays every day, and it looks very novel and cool to see a CRT in action.
